The famous Odessa artist Lena Shekina, who graduated both from M. B. Grekov Odessa Artistic University and school of artist Egorov, being a member of international and regional exhibitions, candidate of Cultural Studies, associate Professor in the Department of Cultural Studies and Art History of ONPU constantly leads the class and teaches different painting styles.  The works of Shekina are represented in the collections of the Odessa Museum of Modern Art and in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, France, USA, Israel.

Classes are held in the midst of works of art in the vast gallery space.

Fascinating part of the Art Club Gallery program are the workshops. A similar format of gallery work is already being practiced in Europe. For example, a 5-hour session “a-la prima”, where you can objectify everything that tells your fantasy, and walk away with a ready-made picture created by yourself.  Or a step-by-step painting lesson that combines the joy of the creative process and gaining knowledge about its basics.

The club system that is offered here is purely Odessa-style: recommendation from friends or acquaintances plus a genuine interest, a desire not to just look at the pictures, but to communicate with like-minded people. In the Gallery you can hear “talking” about the life of this or that era, how it influenced artists, what experiences have formed the basis of their paintings, and how different art directions emerged.

“The accelerating pace of life has created the habit to be very quick at grabbing information, but it is fragmentary and not always professional. But art deserves much better and requires a different attitude. And Odessa has never lacked traditions in this aspect, as well as in many others, because in the pre-revolutionary years the cultural life here was in full swing,” – said Sergey Vladislavovich Dyablo.

The founders of the Art Club Gallery believe that the salvation of the world is in beauty; and that developing a culture of art perception, they give the good and humaneness to the world.
